The rich sweet balsam scent of fir is wonderful for winter holiday scents. Extracted from the fir needles rather than the wood, this essential oil is reminiscent of walking through a snowy forest and creates warm holiday memories. Aromatherapy properties include refreshing, invigorating, stimulating, and strengthening. Fir needle essential oil is mood uplifting, refreshing and reviving. Back in the 80's we brought a balled and bur-lapped pine into the farmhouse for our Christmas Tree. That tree filled our home with a scent similar to the Balsam Fir. During a brief warm spell that January I planted it in the side-yard near the kid's swing set. It now towers over the house. and gives welcome shade in the summer.  This scent carries us back to that long-ago Christmas.
